The unofficial start of trade season in the NBA is almost here and clubs are in search of prospective deals in the trade market as they keep a crucial date in mind.

This year’s trade deadline should be exciting for the Lakers who could potentially make a significant deal to strengthen their squad around LeBron James and Anthony Davis for a playoff run.

According to sources, Patrick Beverley, one of Los Angeles’ biggest additions this offseason, could be considered by the front office in trade discussions. Beverly is the fourth highest-paid player on the team at $13 million and is one of the team’s vocal leaders.
Beverly is averaging a career-low 4.2 points, 3.9 rebounds, and 2.7 assists per game this season.
While Los Angeles could be keen on signing the 34-year-old, they also need supplementary size on the wing and a better big alongside Anthony Davis, in addition to the roster’s excess of small guards.
The Lakers can sign a free agent for the rest of the season or to a 10-day contract, which begins on Jan. 5. They can also take back an extra player in a trade. Whatever it ends up being, Los Angeles has to stick to the date available to trade.
According to the CBA (Collective Bargaining Agreement), a free agent who joins an NBA club cannot be traded before December 15.
This season, there are 74 players who will be dealt on Thursday.
