Will Mike Conley play for the Timberwolves in Game 2 against the Mavericks today?

As he continues to manage a muscle injury, point guard Conley is once more reported as questionable for the Minnesota Timberwolves today.

Timberwolves point guard Mike Conley is again listed as questionable for Game 2 of the Western Conference Finals against the Dallas Mavericks, as Minnesota bid to level the series following defeat in the opener earlier this week.

The Mavericks took a 1-0 lead in Target Center on Wednesday, Luka Doncic scoring 33 points for the Texans in a 108-105 victory. The Timberwolves host Dallas again today, before the series moves to American Airlines Center for Games 3 and 4 on Sunday and Tuesday.

What injury does Conley have?

Conley is dealing with a strain to the soleus muscle in his right calf, which he sustained in Game 4 of the Timberwolves’ Conference Semi-Finals series against the Denver Nuggets. The 36-year-old then missed Game 5 against Denver, but - despite repeatedly being reported as questionable - has played in Minnesota’s three postseason games since then.

Conley played just under 31 minutes in Game 1 against the Mavericks, registering six points, three rebounds, three assists and two steals. The veteran has averaged 10.8 points per game over the course of the 2024 NBA Playoffs.
