Aggie fans face lifetime bans for heckling Florida coach about tragic ball boy death

In the bottom of the second inning of Saturday’s game between the Florida Gators and Texas A&M, two Aggie fans were seen screaming insults into the Florida dugout, leading to them being ejected from the stadium.

Omaha police are now calling for a lifetime ban for the two individuals from Charles Schwab Field.

It seems that the fracas was in relation to a tragedy which saw one of the Gators young ball boys killed last month.

One reporter on the scene tweeted, “Two A&M jackasses just came down to the Florida bench yelling at Coach O’Sullivan saying that he killed someone and be ashamed. Assistants on the gator staff started throwing F-bombs at them and went to run up to them but the cops had wrangled them by then.”

The reference is to 11-year-old Brody Reinhart, a regular bat boy for the Gators, who was tragically murdered along with his 14-year-old brother Rex by their father Paul on May 4th. Reports are that Paul had recently lost his job and was going through a divorce from his wife of 20 years Mindee. After murdering his sons, he committed suicide. Florida coach Kevin O’Sullivan was friends with the family.

The two fans were labelled “despicable” by the Omaha Police Officers Association, who released a statement calling for their banning for life from the College World Series. The statement says, “Heckling an opposing baseball team about the tragic death of their batboy is beyond unacceptable. Glad our officers and security threw this duo out of Charles Schwab Field. You’re no longer welcome in this city and should be banned for life from future College World Series.”

After the game, Texas A&M coach Jim Schlossnagle agreed with the police assessment of the situation, saying to the press, “I want to apologize on behalf of Texas A&M whatever happened over in the dugout. Whoever those two guys are, they don’t represent what Texas A&M is all about. And whoever they are, don’t come back. Let’s not let those two guys back in the ballpark.”

The identities of the individuals have not been released yet, but for all baseball fans everywhere, one thing we can all agree on is that these two idiots have no business being near our beloved game. Go away, and good riddance.
