Arch Manning’s debut draws harsh fan reactions online: “The Bronny James of football”
The expectations for Arch Manning were sky high, so when his first start for Texas didn’t go so well, the fans were quick to blast him online.

The pressure that comes with carrying the Manning last name is on another level. Add a two-year wait for a debut and the expectations skyrocket even further. Texas quarterback Arch Manning made his long-awaited start against Oho State, but he didn’t live up to the family name. And the fans were relentless.

Fans roast Arch Manning online after loss to Ohio State
Arch Manning comes from a long line of football legends, with both his uncles Peyton and Eli becoming quarterback superstars both in college and the NFL. He spent his first two years at Texas as the backup quarterback to Quinn Ewers and finally got his chance at a start on Saturday.
But in Texas’ season opener against Ohio State, the 21-year-old threw for just 26 yards in the first half and failed to lead the Longhorns past the Buckeyes’ 40-yard line. Even his best drive stalled at the goal line on a failed “Tush Push.” He finished 17 of 30 for 170 yards with one interception, nearly throwing another late, in the 14-7 loss.

The underwhelming performance had fans drawing comparisons to Bronny James, LeBron James’ son, who faced similar scrutiny in his NBA debut with the Lakers. Manning, once one of the most-hyped recruits in high school, now faces heavy pressure to prove himself worthy of the Manning dynasty.
