Update:

The 2026 College Football National Championship will be decided at Hard Rock Stadium, Miami on Monday, January 19.

The Miami Hurricanes will take on the Indiana Hoosiers for the CFP title, with a packed crowd expected in Miami on Martin Luther King Jr. Day.

Fans attending the game have been advised to get to the venue with plenty of time before kick-off to allow for the various security measures in place before entering the stadium. This year’s game will have certain additional protocols in place, too, due to the presence of one particular VIP.

Is President Trump going to the CFP Championship Game?

The White House has confirmed that President Donald Trump will attend Monday’s CFP Championship Game.

With the President in attendance, the security measures for the game have been increased with longer waits expected for supporters. College sports reporter Amanda Christovich shared this advisory for fans attending Monday’s game, warning them to “arrive several hours prior to the scheduled kickoff to account for traffic impacts, screening, and potential access restrictions.”

Trump is a known fan of college football and has been to a number of NCAA games in recent years. In 2019 he attended the championship game between LSU and Clemson.

At this year’s game he will be joined by Secretary of State Marco Rubio, the White House has confirmed. Rubio is an alumnus of Miami’s law school and will have the opportunity to see the Hurricanes clinch the title on home field.
