Update:

Ohio State and Notre Dame bring the College Football season to a close in Atlanta on Monday. It’s been an exhilarating run for both programs - the eighth-seeded Buckeyes clinched the Cotton Bowl with a 28-14 victory over Texas; No.7 seeds the Fighting Irish, emerged victorious in the Orange Bowl, edging Penn State 28-24.

This will be the ninth meeting between the two programs - Notre Dame won the first two (18-13 in 1935 and 7-2 the following year), but in the six encounters since then, they have failed to beat Ohio State. The most recent meeting last year ended 17-14 with the Buckeyes scoring a touchdown in the dying seconds.

Who are the favorites?

And the bookmakers have the Buckeyes as the favorites to take this year’s title. Ryan Day’s men are at -350 while the Fighting Irish have been given odds of +280.

There hasn’t been a dull moment during the postseason and unsurprisingly, demand for tickets to the National Championship game is high - which has caused prices to surge.
