A message of good luck to the Michigan Wolverines ahead of their Rose Bowl final against Alabama from Tom Brady, the former NFL player who began his career at the University of Michigan seems to have paid dividends after the ‘maize and blue’ clad team progressed to the 2024 College Football Playoff National Championship final with a win over Alabama in Pasadena.

The Wolverines needed added time to break down a resilient Alabama Crimson Tide team with the final score 27-20 in the Rose Bowl in addec time after the game was tied in regular time.

The contest was a tense affair with neither side able to establish a significant lead and the Wolverines even trailed late in the fourth quarter before J.J. McCarthy found Roman Wilson for a 4-yard touchdown with just over 90 seconds remaining in the game.

The Wolverines were the first seed in the classification while the Crimson Tide occupied the fourth position and the side from Michigan now look to add to their 11 championship titles when they face the Washington Huskies at the CFP Championship Game to be held on January 8.

The Sugar Bowl final in New Orleans saw No. 2 seed Washington Huskies advancing to the national championship game.

The Huskies, led by Heisman Trophy finalist Michael Penix Jr., fought off a late comeback by No. 3 Texas to win 37-31 in the Sugar Bowl on Monday. Down six, the Longhorns drove the length of the field in the final minute, but Quinn Ewers’ fourth-and-11 pass from the Washington 13-yard line was broken up by Elijah Jackson.

Penix passed for 430 yards and two touchdowns, helping Washington pull away in the second half after a back-and-forth first two quarters that ended tied at 21.
