Bill Belichick and Andy Reid join Mike Vrabel for Super Bowl LX
The Patriots' current head coach reportedly held talks with two of the most successful coaches of recent years ahead of his big match. Experience is on his side.
During Saturday’s early practice, the New England Patriots drew attention from fans and observers alike for their mental preparation. Coach Mike Vrabel blasted Bad Bunny music while delivering instructions from the locker room, recreating the atmosphere of a Super Bowl halftime show. While the scenario is new to him as a coach, it is familiar territory for both the franchise and for Vrabel as a former player.
The strategy did not go unnoticed and inevitably recalled a figure whose obsession with detail helped define an era: Bill Belichick. The Monk was meticulous in every aspect of his teams, attentive to every factor, no matter how small. Was Vrabel’s approach a coincidence? Of course not.
According to NFL insider Dianna Russini, Vrabel reportedly sought advice from Bill Belichick and Andy Reid, the current head coach of the Kansas City Chiefs, ahead of the Super Bowl. Their combined experience, which includes nine championship rings as head coaches, is invaluable at this stage.
“Although Belichick didn’t receive the highest honor in American football, he is helping the 2025 Coach of the Year. Mike Vrabel of New England contacted Belichick and fellow Super Bowl-winning coach Andy Reid, leveraging their experience as he prepares for the big game. Vrabel, of course, has been to the Super Bowl four times as a player, but never as a head coach,” the source noted.

Ultimately, success at this level is not about ego, but about collective ambition. Vrabel understands what team glory feels like as a player, yet he has not experienced it as the head coach of a franchise. The opportunity in front of him is rare, and there is no better way to seize it than by learning from the greats when the moment demands it.
