The Green Bay Packers are shaking things up with a potential trade for Seattle Seahawks wide receiver DK Metcalf. At the moment, the Packers are in need of a clear WR1 for quarterback Jordan Love, and Metcalf would be a perfect option.

According to a report, Packers general manager Brian Gutekunst has already made an offer to the Seahawks. Emerald City Spectrum reporter Corbin Smith said that Green Bay is offering to give the Seahawks a high pick as well as a young receiver in exchange for Metcalf.

Metcalf is entering the final year of his contract with Seattle and won’t come cheap as he’s likely to expect a hefty extension coming up. The receiver is heading into his sixth season in the league, and he’s never posted less than 900 yards in a single season. He has put up 1,000+ yards in three of his seasons.

But in Seattle, Metcalf is becoming the WR2 behind Jaxon Smith-Njigba. Last year, Smith-Njigba had more targets, receptions, yards, and touchdowns than Metcalf. On one hand, Seattle could keep him and have a dual threat at wide receiver. On the other, they could trade him, save some money, and potentially get a pretty decent draft pick from the Packers.
