CeeDee Lamb injury update and new WR addition for Cowboys
The Dallas Cowboys are still dealing with an injury to their star wide receiver CeeDee Lamb as they head into Week 5 against the New York Jets.
This week, the Dallas Cowboys will face the winless New York Jets. Before the season started, this may have seemed like an easy win. Now, it’s not so certain. The Cowboys are 1-2-1 heading into Week 5, and dealing with an injury to their star wide receiver CeeDee Lamb.
Cowboys WR situation: Pickens shines, Campbell signs, Lamb heals
Lamb suffered a high ankle sprain in Week 3 and has not returned since. Since then, the Cowboys have been managing life without him. George Pickens, Dallas’ big offsesason signing, has emerged as Dak Prescott’s go-to target, exploding for 134 yards and two touchdowns in last week’s 40-40 tie with Green Bay. He’s now got four touchdowns through four games.
The Cowboys still haven’t put Lamb on Injured Reserve, leaving some hope that he could return to play sooner rather than later. This week, he’s shed his walking boot, returned to light rehab work, and is trending toward a comeback by Week 6 or 7.
To add depth, Dallas signed Super Bowl–winning wideout Parris Campbell to the practice squad, giving them another potential weapon until Lamb is healthy. For now, Pickens leads the way, but Lamb’s imminent return could give the Cowboys’ offense the boost it desperately needs.
