Update:

The Pittsburgh Steelers beat the Minnesota Vikings inn their Week 4 game in Dublin, Ireland last week, but the victory has been overshadowed by one players’ grievance with the NFL. Pittsburgh Steelers safety DeShon Elliott was fined nearly $6,000 by the NFL for a uniform violation, and he took to Instagram to share his disdain.

Elliott’s violation in question was for wearing an “unapproved black towel” during the Steelers’ game against the Vikings. The league rulebook states only plain white, league-approved towels can be used on the field, with no logos or personal markings allowed. The fine was for exactly $5,797.

Elliott blasted the decision on Instagram, tagging both the NFL and NFLPA, writing, “Count your f*** days … y’all worried about the wrong things. Let’s fix things that actually mean something.”

The 28-year-old, who just signed a two-year, $12.5 million extension with Pittsburgh this offseason, is allowed to appeal the fine. His frustration comes as he returned from a knee injury to post a strong performance against Minnesota, making six tackles, forcing a fumble, and snagging an interception in the 24–21 win in Dublin.
