Update:

The Dallas Cowboys defense has struggled early, giving up 450 passing yards to Russell Wilson in Week 2’s overtime win over the New York Giants. But help could be on the way soon.

Cowboys defense might not be shorthanded for much longer

The Cowboys and Giants game was way closer than it should’ve been on Sunday, and that was mostly thanks to Dallas’ weak secondary. While head coach Brian Schottenheimer believes things can be turned around with better communication, it was the glaring defensive holes that really stood out.

According to owner Jerry Jones, that problem could be solved sooner than expected.

On Tuesday, Jones revealed that cornerback DaRon Bland, sidelined with a foot injury, may return in Week 3 when the Cowboys take on the Chicago Bears. He also hinted at a Week 4 debut for rookie Shavon Revel Jr., a third-round pick rehabbing from a torn ACL.

While their returns won’t solve everything, both could provide a big boost to a secondary that badly needs stability. The Cowboys travel to Soldier Field to take on the Bears this Sunday at 4:25 p.m. ET. AS USA will be here to bring you live coverage of the game.
