Dak Prescott reveals which Dallas player has impressed him at training camp
The Dallas Cowboys have not had the easiest start to life under new head coach Brian Schottenheimer but there are some signs of promise.
Brian Schottenheimer’s reign as head coach of the Dallas Cowboys has not got off to the smoothest start but there is reason to believe that the offense is starting to come together.
On Thursday wide receiver George Pickens showed exactly why the Cowboys were so eager to bring him in from the Pittsburgh Steelers, putting on a clinic at the open practice. Combining well with quarterback Dak Prescott, Pickens caught three touchdown passes and showed his versatility as a runner.
Speaking to reporters after the session, Prescott paid tribute to the WR and the variety of plays that he was able to make.
“I don’t want to say I’m surprised, but he does have every tool in the bag,” Prescott said of Pickens.
“And it’s fun to be able to get out there in different periods, different throws, different kind of routes, different coverages for him to make plays, just shows he’s a big-time guy. To have another guy like that alongside [CeeDee Lamb] is just going to be fun.”
Across the session the Cowboys ran a total of 72 plays on Thursday, with Prescott completing 16 out of 27 attempted passes. The quarterback started impressively with 15 out of 20, but appeared to tire as he made just one completion across his final seven attempts.
It was far from perfect but the Cowboys did manage to make it through an entire session with any major signs of ill-discipline. On Wednesday, the practice had been stopped after a series of scuffles broke out between players, one of which saw rookie linesman Ajani Cornelius kicked out of practice after reportedly throwing a punch.
