The Las Vegas Raiders acquired wide receiver Davante Adams via an off-season trade with the Green Bay Packers, to provide quarterback Derek Carr with a new WR1 to aim at. However, legendary Packers QB Brett Favre believes Adams won’t be able to replicate his Green Bay numbers in Las Vegas.

Raiders QB Carr “not in Aaron’s league yet”

In an interview with TMZ Sports at the weekend, Favre said that Carr is not at the same level as Packers QB Rodgers, and that the Raiders should be prepared for a dip in Adams’ performances.

I think Derek Carr is a very good quarterback,” Brett said. “But he’s not in Aaron’s league yet. May never be. And, that’s no disrespect.

“I do think that Davante owes a great deal of gratitude to Aaron and to the Packers for drafting him. That’s not to say he’s not a great player, because he is a tremendous player. We’ll see that with Las Vegas.

“But it’s just hard to shift gears, especially from a player as prolific as Aaron Rodgers. I’d be shocked if he had the same year he’s had the previous year. That’s not to say he can’t do it, but I would be shocked.”

Adams and Carr played together at Fresno State during the 2012 and 2013 seasons in college football, combining for 3,031 yards and 38 touchdowns in 36 games, from a total of 233 receptions.

Rodgers-Adams connection at Packers

Rodgers and Adams were together at the Packers for eight seasons, during which time the WR received for 8,121 yards and 73 touchdowns, having caught 669 passes from the quarterback. What’s more, the pair registered excellent numbers in the Playoffs. In 11 postseason games, they generated 910 yards and eight TDs from 72 receptions.
