Update:

Expecting another Tom Brady in New England once seemed impossible. Yet the Patriots may have found a worthy successor in Drake Maye. The second-year quarterback led New England to victory over the Tennessee Titans in Week 7 of the 2025 season—and in the process, broke one of the GOAT’s records.

Maye now owns the Patriots’ single-game record for completion percentage (minimum 20 pass attempts). The previous mark belonged to Brady, who completed 88.5% of his passes, against the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2019.

This afternoon, the former North Carolina star surpassed that feat, completing 91.3% of his throws against Tennessee. He went 21-of-23 for 222 yards and two touchdowns, delivering one of his most efficient performances as a pro.

Even more impressive, Maye completed 16 straight passes after his lone first-quarter incompletion. He also added 62 rushing yards, showcasing his dual-threat ability throughout the game.

His two missed throws came in the first and fourth quarters. The first was a 17-yard attempt to Kyle Williams on a third down from New England’s own 46. The second came late, when a hit from Kevin Winston disrupted his throw to tight end Hunter Henry.
