SUPER BOWL LVII

Eagles and Chiefs choose uniforms for Super Bowl 2023

Everything’s set for Super Bowl 2023: Chiefs vs. Eagles, including what jerseys they are going to wear. They’ll be donning uniforms as away and home teams.

Although Super Bowl LVII is being played at a neutral venue, the Philadelphia Eagles will be at home, officially speaking, when they face the Kansas City Chiefs at State Farm Stadium. Both teams have decided what color uniform they will play in on Feb. 12 for the Vince Lombardi Trophy.

Eagles, in green

The Eagles will play the fourth Super Bowl in franchise history. In the previous three they used their green uniform, and LVII will not be an exception. Through a video on their Twitter account in which they shared their special patch for the game, Philadelphia announced that they will play with the home jersey.

At the moment, the Eagles are 1-2 in the Super Bowl. The defeats were in the XV edition, against the Oakland Raiders, and XXXIX, against the New England Patriots. The only Vince Lombardi Trophy in the Eagles’ cabinets was won in Super Bowl LII, when they defeated the Patriots.

Chiefs, in white

The Chiefs made a similar announcement, saying that they have decided to wear their white uniform. One thing to keep in mind is that 15 of the last 18 Super Bowl winners have won the championship in white.

The Chiefs’ record in Super Bowls is 2-2 and they seek to have a positive record by winning the LVII championship. Kansas City lost the first Super Bowl in history against Vince Lombardi’s Green Bay Packers. However, they clinched their first championship since the NFL-AFL merger in Super Bowl IV, by beating the Minnesota Vikings.

The team’s last two appearances have resulted in a win and a loss. Fifty years after their first victory, the Chiefs clinched their second championship over the San Francisco 49ers, but a season later they were defeated by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
