Eagles coach Nick Sirianni pressed on Jalen Hurts’ form: ‘I think that’s ridiculous’
Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles are top of the NFC East but the quarterbacks’ form has been questioned after a run of three straight losses.

The Philadelphia Eagles suffered a third straight loss on Monday night but head coach Nick Sirianni has denied that any drastic action is needed.
Sirianni was quizzed on the form of quarterback Jalen Hurts in the aftermath of the latest loss, with some suggesting that a change could be made this season. The Eagles coach pushed back forcefully on those claims.

“No, I think that’s ridiculous,” Sirianni told Philadelphia’s 94 WIP radio station, when asked if Hurts’ place was under threat. “I know every time I go out on that field with Jalen Hurts as our quarterback, we have a chance to win the game. That’s something that’s been proven. We’ve won a lot of football games.
“This is the most ultimate team game. You win together as a team, you lose together as a team. It’s never just one thing.”
Hurts led the team to Super Bowl LIX triumph last season; backup Tanner McKee has made just two NFL appearances since being taken by the Eagles in the sixth round of the 2023 NFL Draft.
The 22-19 loss to the Los Angeles Charger on Monday night was statistically Hurts’ worst outing of the season. He threw four interceptions, including one for the Chargers’ game-winning play in overtime.
Hurts was responsible for five giveaways against the Chargers, the joint-most of any Eagles player since individual plays were first tracked in 1978. The last Eagles quarterback to record four interceptions in a single game was Michael Vick in 2012.
Next up for the Eagles is a home game against the 2-11 Las Vegas Raiders on Sunday, a prime chance to end the losing run. Sirianni insisted that there were enough positives from recent performances to get back to winning ways.
“I know we can continue to get better. There was a lot of good things on offense on Monday night,” said Sirianni. “It was really good defense, it was really good special teams, and there were a lot of good things on offense.”
