Eagles or Chiefs: Oddsmakers get busy deciding Super Bowl LIX favorites
As the Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles prepare for a Super Bowl rematch, sportsbooks are setting the stage.

The anticipation for Super Bowl LIX is heating up, and oddsmakers are, as always, are lining up the dynamic odds to ensure, with as much probability as they can, that they don’t end up out of pocket.
So, with the Kansas City Chiefs squaring off against the Philadelphia Eagles on February 9 in New Orleans, let’s take an early look at three of the major sportsbooks – BetMGM, DraftKings, and FanDuel – and see who they have pegged as favorite.

Who are the favorites for Super Bowl LIX?
For now, the consensus is that the Chiefs are 1.5-point favorites, with the total set at 49.5 points across all three platforms. It’s a rematch of Super Bowl LVII, where Patrick Mahomes led Kansas City to a 38-35 victory over Philadelphia in February 2023. If you remember that thriller in Glendale, Arizona, you know why expectations for another high-scoring clash are baked into those odds.
The moneyline: opinions differ
The point spread may be locked in, but the moneylines tell a different story. DraftKings and BetMGM list Kansas City at -125 and Philadelphia at +105, while FanDuel has been a little more bullish on the Chiefs, offering them at -132 and the Eagles at +112.
For bettors looking to read between the lines, the Chiefs’ slight edge comes as no surprise. Patrick Mahomes has been nothing short of extraordinary, racking up three Super Bowl MVP awards, including the past two in Kansas City’s back-to-back wins. He also set another record against the Bills. With four Super Bowl victories in six total appearances, the Chiefs have a knack for showing up when it matters most.

This game isn’t just about bragging rights. Kansas City has a chance to make history by becoming the first team to win three straight Super Bowls. Edging out the Buffalo Bills 32-29 in the AFC Championship Game, their Texas Tech QB delivered yet another MVP-caliber performance, and the Chiefs’ offense continues to look unstoppable.
The Eagles, however, clearly aren’t a team to underestimate. They punched their ticket to New Orleans with a resounding 55-23 rout of the Washington Commanders in the NFC Championship Game earlier that day. Capitalizing on four turnovers, Philadelphia reminded everyone why they’re a perennial playoff threat.

Though their Super Bowl resume isn’t as extensive as Kansas City’s, the Eagles have one title to their name, beating Tom Brady and the New England Patriots 41-33 in 2018. Now, they’re heading to their fifth Super Bowl and looking to avenge previous heartbreak.
