Update:

The New Orleans Saints stirred speculation Tuesday with a cryptic teaser photo posted to social media, hinting at a possible new helmet reveal on July 9. And fans noticed a clue that could hint at a historic change for the Saints.

Bold redesign for the Saints helmets?

The shadowed image showed what appeared to be a drastically different design - potentially white with a black stripe - sparking fan buzz.

Since 1967, the Saints haven’t made many major changes to their helmets. It’s always been the gold shell with a black fleur-de-lis. The colors have changed slightly, but the design has remained the same.

They did show they’re open to evolution in 2022, however, when they introduced their alternate black helmets with a gold fleur-de-lis - the first major change from their traditional gold.

This tease comes amid rumors of a full alternate uniform reveal later in July. The changes arrive during a transitional year for the team, which faces an uncertain quarterback battle in the post-Derek Carr era.
