How long were Tom Brady and Gisele Bundchen married for?
Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback and Brazilian supermodel Gisele Bundchen have announced that they have filed for divorce after 13 years of marriage.
Tom Brady and Gisele Bundchen have finally called it quits after 13 years of marriage.
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers star quarterback and the Brazilian supermodel announced that they have filed for divorce on their social media accounts, after reports that began in September indicated that they had been having marital struggles.
The breakup comes after what appeared to be more than a decade of blissful togetherness. The two met in 2006 when they were set up on a date by friends. They started dating around the same time Brady broke up with his girlfriend at the time, actress Bridget Moynahan.
Moynahan announced soon after that she was pregnant with the quarterback’s child, but the new relationship between Brady and Bundchen held strong in the face of this challenge. The two continued to see each other and maintained an amicable relationship with the actress as they co-parented their son Jack.
The fairy tale wedding
Brady and Bundchen tied the knot in 2009, and after a few months, had their first child together, Benjamin. After three years, they had their only daughter, Vivian. Jack, Brady’s son by Moynahan is now 15, Benjamin is 12 years old, while Vivian is nine. Bundchen has treated Jack as her own son, and has been a part of his life since he was a baby.
Brady and Bundchen have long been viewed as a power couple in the sports and entertainment industries, who were in a solid and loving relationship.
However, that changed this year as reports of their marital problems emerged in September, supposedly stemming from the 45-year-old’s decision to go back to football just weeks after he announced his retirement from the NFL.
The speculation and the rumors can now be put to rest. According to both Prince Charming and the Princess, the 13-year-old fairytale has officially come to an end.
