In addition to the mouthwatering matchup on the pitch, there was also the temptation of Rihanna, making her comeback with a halftime show that likely added more viewers

An estimated 118.7 million people tuned in to see her sing at Apple Music’s Super Bowl Halftime Show, which aired on TV and online. The second most watched halftime show In history.

What was the total viewership for Super Bowl LVII?

This year’s total number is around 113 million, FOX announced today. The final number will announced on Tuesday.

Last year, 112.3 million people watched Super Bowl LVI between the Los Angeles Rams and the Cincinnati Bengals. Attendance for the Chiefs-Eagles game at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona, was up slightly.

With these results Super Bowl LVII ranks as the third most watched U.S. TV show ever.

FOX’s Michael Mulvihill, head of strategy and analytics, was a bit off when he said before the game that the network was looking for 115 million, a new record. Unfortunately, they did not break the record of the New England Patriots historic comeback win in Super Bowl LI in 2017.
