Chiefs secure third Super Bowl title in Arizona
The Chiefs triumphed 38-35 in Glendale, Arizona, to earn the third Super Bowl victory in the Missouri franchise’s history.
With the scores tied at 35-35, Harrison Butker kicked a last-gasp field goal to win the game for Andy Reid’s men.
After throwing for three touchdowns, Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes was named Super Bowl MVP for the second time in his career.
Mahomes’ man-of-the-match performance came despite the 27-year-old struggling with an ankle injury. Indeed, he hobbled off the field in clear pain after a tackle late in the first half, and Kansas City medics had to work on his ankle before he re-entered the fray.

Where will Super Bowl LVIII be held?
With the 2022 season over, the countdown to the start of the 2023 campaign now begins. Scheduled to get underway on 7 September, it is to culminate in Super Bowl LVIII on 11 February 2024.
Allegiant Stadium in Paradise, Nevada, is to be the venue for the next edition of the NFL’s showpiece game.
Opened in July 2020, the 65,000-capacity arena cost a reported $1.9 billion to build, and is home to NFL franchise the Las Vegas Raiders. It will be the first time that the Super Bowl has been held in the state of Nevada.
New Orleans was originally scheduled to host Super Bowl LVIII, but the NFL’s switch to an 18-week regular season meant the game would have clashed with the Mardi Gras celebrations in the Louisiana city. New Orleans will now stage the Super Bowl at the end of the 2024 season.
