Is the NFL ‘DOINK!’ the best sound in sport?
The 2023 Super Bowl got off to a flyer with early scores tied at 7-7 and the Chiefs with a chance to pop over a go-ahead FG. But the goalpost was hit.

Harrison Butker of the Kansas City Chiefs looked to give his team a lead after an early touchdown and conversion for either side had us tied at 7-7. But the kicker slammed his effort against the left goalpost, and we heard that very satisfying (well, not for the kicking team) noise, generally referred to as ‘DOINK!’
- Follow Super Bowl LVII between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Philadelphia Eagles
- Fastest ever Super Bowl touchdown
- Rihanna’s halftime show expectation soaring
Sports noises we love

Fastest ever Super Bowl touchdown

How long was the Super Bowl 2023 national anthem?
A pool ball slamming into the pocket. A tennis ball powering into the net cord. A clean-as-you-like homer thudding off the hardwood or metal alloy bat. So many sporting noises give us pleasure.
It’s fair to say, Twitter loves a ‘DOINK!’
