Update:

Joe Milton didn’t mince words when asked about his transition from the New England Patriots to the Dallas Cowboys. “It’s way different,” he said, and he meant it in every possible way.

Milton pleased with Dallas move

Traded this offseason for a 2025 fifth-round pick, Milton found himself swapped out of a rigid Patriots system and dropped into a Cowboys offense he calls “fast” and “explosive.” It reminds him of his college days, he said – and that’s clearly a good thing.

Milton only started one game for New England, a Week 18 win that ironically cost the Patriots the No. 1 overall pick. He threw for 241 yards and a touchdown, and left the field that day believing he could thrive in the NFL. Two months later, he was out the door.

Behind the scenes, things were reportedly less rosy. Patriots insider Greg Bedard claimed a source called Milton “not a good dude,” citing tension in the quarterback room. Head coach Mike Vrabel didn’t directly address that but said reps for Milton were “going to be decreased.”

Now in Dallas, Milton’s reputation is getting a clean slate. Head coach Brian Schottenheimer praised his work ethic and command of the playbook. It’s said that Dak Prescott has even taken him under his wing.

So, it’s really seems to be way different for Milton, which is sort of the whole point.
