Mahomes ankle injury flares after TJ Edwards tackle: Super Bowl 2023
Mahomes vs Hurts was one of the most exciting quarterback contests but the Chiefs’ man took a knock before halftime.
TJ Edwards went after Patrick Mahomes who was scrambling, and who then came up hobbling on that known injured ankle. It could be devastating for the Chiefs who then went to punt the ball with 1:33 to go in the second quarter.
The Kansas City Chiefs faced off against the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl LVII after the two top seeds won their conference championships. A close first half, saw the Eagles hold a lead as Mahomes tried to get his team back into it. but Edwards was to have all Chiefs fans holding their breath. We’re watching to see how it pans out for the quarterback.
Questions over Mahomes playing before Super Bowl
While Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes went into the NFC Championship game at Lincoln Financial Field battling through an ankle injury he suffered in the divisional-round victory over the Jacksonville Jaguars, he was still able to deliver the key plays during the game against the Bengals.
The bye week and lots of rehab efforts have been very beneficial for the quarterback and Andy Reid told reporters that he was not at 100% yet, Mahomes says he’s “definitely in a better spot” than he was for the AFC title game. He said he did not expect to be limited by the sprain on Sunday and that he would likely continue treatments until Sunday’s kickoff.
First black QBs to face off in Super Bowl
When Mahomes and Hurts started on February 12, they became the first Black QBs to face off in a Super Bowl.
