Update:

After years of reworking classics, Bad Bunny has taken a bigger step. No, I’m not talking about the one onto the Super Bowl LX Halftime Show stage. It’s the adidas Bad Bo – which is neither a remix nor a nostalgic update. It is his first sneaker designed from the ground up with the shoe giants, and that shift changes everything.

What is the ‘Bad Bo’?

The Bad Bo was first revealed in Puerto Rico, and the message was clear. This is not a guest appearance in adidas’ archive. It is a new model with its own identity, shaped by Bad Bunny’s taste rather than a past design.

The look pulls from familiar places without copying them. There is a clear 1990s basketball influence in the strong mid-cut shape and angular panels, paired with the padded feel of early-2000s skate shoes. The result feels sturdy and practical, built for everyday wear rather than display shelves. Although plenty will be worn for the ‘show’ factor.

Comfort and durability are clearly part of the plan. The shoe features a chunky sole, layered materials, and a structured upper that suggests long-term use, not just hype-driven rotation.

This release also reflects the evolution of Bad Bunny’s relationship with adidas. Previous drops tied into memories of Puerto Rico and key moments in his life. The Bad Bo moves past storytelling and into authorship. It is less about where he has been and more about what he wants to build next.

The Bad Bo was out ahead of the artist’s moment at the Grammy’s and before the huge NFL spotlight is on him. But it’s been selling out fast.
