Miami Dolphins rule out signing Tom Brady in NFL free agency

The future of Tom Brady is still unknown, and he has kept quiet about his plans for his next step in his legendary professional career in the NFL.

Widely considered to be one of the greatest quarterbacks who ever played the game, Brady’s contract has now come to an end, seeing him available as a free agent for only the second time in his career.

Following the elimination of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the Divisional Round at the hands of the Dallas Cowboys, there quickly emerged a list of team names who might be interested in picking up Brady and integrating him into their ranks.

The first name that resonated strongly with the public were the Las Vegas Raiders who only recently lost their starting quarterback Derek Carr. The second team, and perhaps the most eye-popping, that loomed on the horizon in the hunt for Mr Brady was the Miami Dolphins.

According to a report by ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Florida franchise does not have any plans to pursue Tom Brady in free agency, should he decide to return for the 2023 NFL season.

It is not the first time that Tom Brady has been considered

The Dolphins are reportedly committed to Tua Tagovailoa as their starting quarterback for next season, despite the concussion troubles that he has had, and they are said to be pleased with his performance this season under head coach Mike McDaniel.

This is not the first time that Miami have been pipped as a possible destination for the seven-time Super Bowl-winning quarterback. Last year, Miami were penalized by the NFL for making offers to sign him while he was still under contract to the Bucs.
