Micah Parsons retweets response to Jerry Jones swipe directed at him and Dak
The standoff between Micah Parsons and the Dallas Cowboys is getting uglier and uglier, and now the pass rusher shared his feelings by reposting a tweet.

Things looks like they are going from bad to worse in Big D as the contract negotiations between Dallas and their star pass rusher Micah Parsons seem to be at a stand still.
Jones takes aim at biggest stars
Micah Parsons, who has transformed into one of the best EDGE rushers in the league in his first fours, is heading into the final year of his rookie contract, but hoping to get a contract extension before the season starts. The Cowboys, more specifically owner Jerry Jones, not only doesn’t seem interested in paying the star of his defense, he willingly took a shot at Parsons and QB Dak Prescott press conference on Monday evening.
“Just because we sign him doesn’t mean we’re gonna have him. He was hurt six games last year. Seriously,” said Jones referring to the games he missed with a high ankle sprain last year. Parsons didn’t miss six games though, he missed just four and still ended the year with 12 sacks and two forced fumbles.
Then Jones took aim at Prescott, “I remember signing a player for the highest-paid position in the league and he got knocked out two-thirds of the year,” Jones said. “Dak Prescott. So there’s a lot of things you can think about, just as the player does, when you’re thinking about committing and guaranteeing money.”
Watt jumps to defense of Dak and Parsons
J.J. Watt, who was a three time Defensive Player of the Year, with the Houston Texas and game changing pass rusher himself leapt to the defense of the Cowboys stars. The older Watt brother posted, “Anytime you can publicly take a dig at your star quarterback and your star pass rusher simultaneously, right before the season begins, you just gotta take it…Nothing makes guys want to fight for you more than hearing how upset you are that they got hurt while fighting for you.”

Parsons retweeted the post, and it remains on his timeline as of Tuesday morning, and frankly I don’t think it’s coming down any time soon. Parsons, like most players who are either in, or nearing a holdout is remaining silent. Jones is not.
The Cowboys are looking to rebound after a 7-10 season that marked the end of the Mike McCarthy era in Dallas. They have a new coach in Brian Schottenheimer, and Jones has already shot off at the mouth when asked about the coach that he signed, saying hiring a first year coach was “as big of a risk as you can take.” That is a big risk, but not as big taking shots at your two biggest stars on the team.
