Update:

About three weeks ago, the New England Patriots released linebacker Sione Takitaki after just one season with the team. Before that, he’d spent his first five seasons with the Cleveland Browns. Now, the 29-year-old is still waiting to find his new home as a free agent.

While the anticipation and not knowing is part of the deal, it’s not easy on the family members of NFL free agents, and Takitaki’s wife Alyssa opened up about the struggles on social media.

Sione Takitaki’s wife’s viral TikTok

Sione Takitaki’s wife Alyssa recently went viral on TikTok after she posted a video talking about the difficulties of free agency, saying that she and Sione are “essentially homeless” while they wait to find out his next team.

“The NFL free agency is crazy,” Alyssa said. ”I don’t know where I’m going to live. I don’t know where I’m going to live! We’re essentially homeless... for now."

“But basically... free agency, they have teams calling...You’re trying to figure it out. I have no idea where we’re going to be though, and it always happens this way where you think you’re going somewhere and then last minute... you’re actually going over here.”

Alyssa and Sione have a newborn son, Zion, and though she acknowledged that uncertainty is just part of the NFL, she spoke about the toll it takes to think you’re going to live one place only to have it change suddenly.

“The only sure thing in the NFL is that it’s unsure,” she said. “I don’t know where we’re going to be, but I can count on the fact that we don’t know where we’re going to be.”
