NFL preseason games: Who plays on Sunday 11 August? Times and how to watch on TV, stream online
Two more pre-season games are scheduled for Sunday with the action taking place in Indianapolis and Los Angeles.
The NFL has returned with the first full week of preseason games this week as the countdown begins to the new season which gets underway on 5 September.
The week’s activity concludes on Sunday as Denver Broncos take on the Colts followed by LA Rams welcoming Dallas Cowboys at SoFi Stadium.
Broncos at Colts, Stidham to start
Denver Broncos head coach Sean Payton said Jarrett Stidham’s experience is a factor in why the 28-year-old drew the start over Bo Nix on Sunday. Stidham started Denver’s final two games last season after Payton pulled the plug on Russell Wilson.
“I just think, right now, certainly he’s been here, his experience,” Payton said. “Next week it’ll be Nix, but we’re focused on this game, just with where we’re at.”
Stidham split his two starts with the Broncos and is 1-3 in four NFL starts, the other two coming when the Las Vegas Raiders benched Derek Carr for the final two games of the 2022 season.
Overall, Stidham has passed for 1,422 yards, eight touchdowns and eight interceptions in 16 career NFL appearances (four starts).
The Broncos took Nix with the No. 12 overall pick in the 2024 draft. He had eye-popping numbers at Oregon last season -- completing 77.4 percent of his passes for 4,508 yards, 45 touchdowns and three interceptions.
Payton still doesn’t have a definitive time set to decide who will start the season opener against the host Seattle Seahawks on 8 September.

It’s the rookies’ time to shine and a time for the roster battles to heat up. Will we see Rams’ quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo, who’s been suspended for the first two games of the regular season?
How will Stetson Bennett fare as his backup? Will the Cowboys’ rookie tackle Tyler Guyton overtake Chuma Edoga on the (unofficial) depth chart and prove he can easily switch to the left? Will Trey Lance ever show us why he was a third overall pick at one point? All questions we hope we’ll have answered on Sunday, or at least made a little clearer.
The Rams have gone 1-8 over the last three pre seasons and the Cowboys have gone 3-7.
