NFL Wild Card: What happened in the last regular season game between the Cowboys and Buccaneers?
The Cowboys and Bucs square off Monday night in a Wild-card matchup. Let’s revisit the last time the two teams met
The Tampa Bay Bucs were able to slide their way into the playoffs after winning the NFC South and are now set to play the Dallas Cowboys in the wild-card round on Monday Night Football. The game is a rematch of the 2022-2023 opening season clash that saw the Buccaneers defeat Dallas 19-3.
Dak Prescott and the Cowboys were left looking weak and unfamiliar on Sept. 12, 2022, while Brady and the Bucs dominated their play. Along with Mike Evans, the star quarterback connected on a punctuating touchdown, and Leonard Fournette ran for 127 yards.
The Cowboys, on the other hand, looked anemic on offense. Their only score in the Week 1 loss to Tampa Bay was a first-quarter field goal: Brett Maher’s 51-yard boot.

The second quarter looked more or less the same with Dallas’s offense looking lost throughout the rest of the game. It was clear Prescott clearly missed having a reliable second receiver behind CeeDee Lamb. Things only got worse from there, and Prescott had to leave in the fourth quarter due to a hand injury.
It was reported post-game that he would need surgery for a fracture near the thumb.
Now, seven-time Super Bowl-winner Brady, who is limping into the playoffs after the first losing season of his illustrious career, will face Prescott, who helped Dallas win eight of their last 11 games this season.
What a match to anticipate!
