Russell Wilson’s wife Ciara sends Jay-Z-inspired message after Giants move
When your partner makes a multi-million-dollar change of employer, you need to get on board, something Ciara certainly has.
Russell Wilson is heading to the Big Apple, and his biggest fan is all in on the move. After the veteran quarterback agreed to a one-year deal with the New York Giants, his wife, Ciara, made it clear she’s embracing the next chapter.
The Grammy-winning singer took to Instagram on Tuesday night to celebrate Wilson’s new home, posting a photo of him in a Yankees uniform with the caption: “New York State of Mind! My greatest inspiration @dangerusswilson.” To drive the message home, she paired it with Jay-Z’s Empire State of Mind, the ultimate anthem for a fresh start in NYC.
Wilson, a 10-time Pro Bowler, chose the Giants over other options and his move marks a return to MetLife Stadium, the site of his Super Bowl 48 triumph with the Seahawks. Now, he’ll be calling it home – at least for the next season.
How much is Russell Wilson’s Giants contract worth?
Wilson’s contract with the Giants is a one-year deal worth up to $21 million, with $10.5 million guaranteed. He reportedly considered staying with the Steelers or joining the Browns but ultimately chose New York. It’s a state of mind!
