SUPER BOWL LVIII
Social media reacts to Usher’s Halftime Show performance at Super Bowl 2024
The reaction from the public at Usher’s Halftime Show was, let’s say, underwhelming, with sound issues the main complaint.
For many people, the football simply gets in the way of the Halftime Show at the Super Bowl. For the showpiece event this year, Usher was the artist given the honour of performing to the expectant crowd at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas.
The hype ahead of the mini-concert was palpable ahead of the event, with plenty of Usher fans visible throughout the crowd. However, right from the off, something was amiss and the fans, especially those online, were not too overwhelmed with the outcome of the show.
One of the main concerns seemed to be the volume of the singer’s microphone, who could barely be heard according to some...
For some, the lack of singing altogether was an issue...
Alicia Keys, enter the stage
The reaction to Alicia Keys performing with Usher was much more positive, with plenty of people delighted that the singers joined up to perform ‘My Boo’, a fan favourite. Although the sound problems seemed to persist.
Just the mere presence of Keys, however, seemed to keep people happy.
The first half of the 58th Super Bowl proved to be a hugely entertaining affair, with Greenlaw’s injury the standout moment. The linebacker went down as he set off running with what looked like a freak injury to his knee. While the full extent of his physical issue is not yet known, it is not expected to be good news.
Apart from that, it was the 49ers who were the happier team, going into the break with a 10-3 lead over the Chiefs, who allowed their tempers to surge and fly through the roof after a lacklustre half. Kelce was even snapped on camera clashing with Andy Reid, the Chiefs coach, and he appeared to shove the 65-year-old in an angry fit. Meanwhile, his girlfriend, Taylor Swift, was enjoying herself as she saw off a beer from the stands.
