SUPER BOWL LVIII
Super Bowl 2024: how much do tickets cost as a resell?
Without doubt, the hottest ticket in global sports this weekend offers access to Las Vegas’ Allegiant Stadium and Super Bowl LVIII.
The 58th Super Bowl sees the Kansas City Chiefs looking to retain their crown following last year’s win over Philadelphia as they face a San Francisco 49ers side looking to add to their five Super Bowl titles.
With this year’s Super Bowl set to be hosted at the 65,000-seater Allegiant Stadium, the fourth-smallest venue in NFL, this means that tickets are at a real premium this year, even more than usual.
Ticket distribution via teams
Each participating team receives approximately 17% of overall tickets and these are distributed to fans via ballots. The NFL retain roughly 25% of tickets for in-house, sponsorship commitments with the home team (Las Vegas Raiders) set to be given 5% of all tickets. The remaining allocation is shared out among the rest of the NFL teams with the league never revealing the face value of the tickets for the biggest game of the season.
Super Bowl via resell platforms
So, what to do if you’ve missed out on a ticket via the traditional avenues and you are still desperate to see the action in Vegas on Sunday night.
Assuming one is deep pocketed, then resorting to resale platforms is the inevitable alternative. At the time of writing (late on Saturday 10 February or very early on Sunday 11 February, depending where you are), Seat Geek’s cheapest ticket offers a Section 435 (Row 12) Super Bowl ticket for $5,343.
Viagogo also offers a series of tickets via their platform, which prices here start at over $5,600 for a Section 409 (Row 14) match ticket.
Nothing beats live sports and attending a Super Bowl final is certainly on a par with that of the World Cup, Wimbledon or Champions League finals and really are once-in-a-lifetime experiences generating memories that no smart phone can ever better.
If money is no option, what are you waiting for ....book the flights, reserve that hotel and enjoy being involved in a key moment of sporting history. Although you will have to get a move on, as kick off in Las Vegas (6:30 p.m. ET/3:30 p.m) is fast approaching!
