Swift’s fans are going nuts after she announced her engagement to Kelce. The Chiefs tight end’s father spilled the beans about when and how it happened.
The months of speculation are finally over - Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift are engaged.
Swift and Kelce shared the news in a joint Instagram post earlier today (Tuesday), and Kelce’s father, Ed Kelce, confirmed the big news and gave more details on the engagement during an interview with Today’s Karl Stefanovic and Sarah Abo.

When did Travis Kelce propose to Taylor Swift?
According to Ed, Travis proposed a couple of weeks ago, though fans are only just now learning the details. He revealed that both he and Taylor’s father, Scott Swift, had been “prodding” Travis to pop the question, adding some good-natured pressure to the timeline.
Ed also shared that Travis had struggled to find the “perfect” way to propose, but ultimately, it was the act itself that made the moment special.
“And we kept trying to tell him, ‘When you do it, that’s what makes it special, don’t fret on where, just get it done,’” he said.
For Ed, the engagement marks a joyful moment after a difficult stretch, following the recent loss of his partner, Maureen Maguire. He added that she would have loved the news.
“I mean, they’re just so good together, they really are. And and they’re just they’re both so happy ... I don’t know that I’ve ever seen Travis happier.”
When will Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s wedding be?
Although Ed seemed to know the answer to that question, he didn’t let it slip, telling the hosts that he’d let the happy couple announce that in their own time.
However, if we absolutely must speculate, I’d say it will be sometime in the spring. Obviously it will need to happen when the NFL season is over for Kelce and so that a good chunk of his guests will be able to attend. It would also make sense to hold the wedding a bit before summer starts to avoid clashing with any planned vacations. Be on the lookout for an April or May save the date!
