Key details of Alec Pierce’s new contract
Pierce’s new contract includes several significant financial components:
- Total value: $114 million over four years
- Maximum value: $116 million with incentives
- Total guarantees: $84 million
- Fully guaranteed at signing: $60 million
That structure gives Pierce substantial security while also giving Indianapolis some flexibility through performance incentives that could push the deal slightly higher. The contract also represents a significant commitment by the Colts to their passing offense.
At $28.5 million per year on average, Pierce now ranks among the league’s highest-paid wide receivers and sets a new benchmark for contracts signed by free-agent receivers. Indianapolis clearly views the receiver as a long-term cornerstone of their offense, rewarding him with a contract typically reserved for elite playmakers.
Pierce has steadily developed into a key weapon for Indianapolis’ offense, showcasing his ability as a vertical threat and dependable target in the passing game. Rather than risk losing him in free agency, the Colts moved aggressively to secure him with a deal that ensures he remains a centerpiece of their offensive plans for the foreseeable future.
