Tom Brady gives NCAA softball home-run shoutout to niece
The legendary NFL quarterback is readying himself for another season, but had time to cheer on his young family member playing for the UCLA Bruins.
In the end it was all in vain but what a performance the UCLA Bruins gave us as they beat top seed Oklahoma Sooners on Monday afternoon. And there was a rather famous voice spurring them on... focusing on one specific player in particular.
Brady supports Bruins niece
A living legend of NFL - and a sporting great across the globe - Tom Brady was keen to add his support as his niece, Maya Brady, starred in the Bruins’ win over Oklahoma, a victory that kept their season alive and force a play-in game. That handed them a chance to reach the NCAA championship series.
During The Match, his golfing challenge against fellow QBs, he spoke about Maya, the daughter of his big sister Maureen.
“I used to be known as Maureen Brady’s little brother,” he said. “And I always said ‘one day, they’re gonna be known as Tom Brady’s big sisters…
“I think now we’re all known as Maya Brady’s uncle, and Maya Brady’s mom, and she’s out there kicking butt.”
Two home runs from young Brady, who was two-for-four from the plate, formed part of the Bruins three consecutive wins in the elimination games, before finally bowing out to Oklahoma who will face the unseeded Texas Longhorns in the final series.
