Viral Combine clip: Jets HC dozes during David Bailey’s 40-yard dash
A small moment at the 2026 NFL Scouting Combine turned into big chatter online after going viral, and it had nothing to do with player testing.
During Thursday’s defensive linemen and linebackers workouts at the NFL Combine in Indianapolis, cameras briefly caught Jets head coach Aaron Glenn with his eyes closed, appearing to nod off as David Bailey recorded a blazing official ~4.50 40-yard dash, one of the fastest marks of the day for an edge rusher.

The clip was just seconds long, but it quickly spread across social feeds, with fans and draft watchers chiming in with a mix of humor, sympathy and classic Jets-era cynicism. Some joked that Glenn was simply catching a quick rest during a long day of evaluations. Others used the moment to lampoon New York’s recent NFL struggles following a rough 3–14 season in 2025 that left the franchise with premium draft capital but plenty of pressure to turn things around.
The timing of the clip adds fuel to the conversation around the Jets’ offseason direction. After finishing near the bottom of the NFL in 2025, New York has significant draft leverage with the No. 2 overall pick (among others) and could target an impact edge rusher like Bailey, exactly the kind of talent the team badly needs after a season with historically low defensive turnovers.
