Watch out Philadelphia: Jayden Daniels’ incredible stats in last game Commanders played against the Eagles
The Philadelphia Eagles beat the Washington Commanders to the NFC East but suffered at the hands of Daniels in the regular season.

The Philadelphia Eagles are the bookmakers’ favorites to defeat the Washington Commanders in the NFC Championship Game and reach Super Bowl LIX, to be played in New Orleans on February 9. But they only need to look back to the most recent meeting between the teams to know what Dan Quinn’s team, and quarterback Jayden Daniels in particular, are capable of.
The Eagles, despite sweating over the fitness of Jalen Hurts, are fancied by many to pip the Commanders after winning the NFC East ahead of their upcoming opponents, although both teams won one head-to-head game apiece in the regular season.
There can be little doubt Philadelphia and Washington are two of the NFL’s form teams, as you might expect given the stage of the season.
Daniels' Commanders inflict rare defeat on Eagles
The Commanders go into their first NFC Championship Game since 1991 on a seven-game winning streak, while the Eagles have been victorious in 14 of their last 15 matchups. However, and perhaps crucially, their only blemish on their recent record came against Daniels, Quinn and Co in Week 16 on December 22.
On that occasion, quarterback Daniel put in a performance for the ages in Washington’s 36-33 victory at FedEx Field. The 24-year-old, selected as the no. 2 pick in the 2024 Draft, threw for five touchdowns, the last of which found Jamison Crowder with just six seconds left on the clock to secure a dramatic victory.
Jayden Daniels' “firsts” against Philadelphia
Daniels became the first ever rookie quarterback to throw at least five touchdowns and rush for 65 yards or more in a single NFL game. It also made him the first Washington QB to throw for five touchdowns in a game since Mark Rypien did so in the franchise’s Super Bowl-winning season in 1991.
Is that an omen that history is about to repeat itself? Philadelphia Eagles, you have been warned.
