What did Antonio Brown say is the biggest regret of his NFL career?

Since the final stretch of the 2018 campaign, Brown has been involved in multiple scandals. However, they don’t keep the wide receiver up at night.

In the midst of a career hiatus preceded by three scandal-ridden campaigns, Antonio Brown has looked back on what he says is the greatest regret of his time in the NFL.

Taking to social media, the 34-year-old wide receiver insisted that he’s not bothered by any of the off-field or on-field controversies that he has been at the centre of in recent seasons. The one thing he would change, he says, is the fact he cannot watch himself in action.

“Like watching the Beatles or Jesus”

My biggest regret in my career doesn’t involve calling my GM a ‘cracker’, or showing up to Raiders camp late in a hot air balloon with frozen feet, or throwing rocks at that UPS driver, and it definitely doesn’t involve taking my shirt off and doing a victory lap around the Jets’ stadium mid game while throwing up deuces.

My biggest regret is that I’ll never get to see me, Antonio Brown, play a game live. Sure, I can watch the game afterwards, but I can’t imagine what that was like for you all to see something like that. Like watching the Beatles or Jesus perform at Red Rocks.”

A long list of problems

Although Brown listed a number of controversies he’s been involved in, there are plenty that he left out. The Central Michigan graduate fell out with the rest of the Pittsburgh Steelers locker room at the end of the 2018 campaign, which is why he was traded to Las Vegas. He later became embroiled in a standoff with the NFL over the league’s rules on helmets; pushed a woman to the ground; reportedly had constant altercations with Tampa Bay Buccaneers head coach Bruce Arians; and was suspended for submitting a fake vaccination certificate.

However, the most serious scandal of all was the sexual abuse lawsuit he faced in 2019. Britney Taylor, the player’s former trainer, accused Brown of sexually assaulting her, before the pair later reached a settlement. In the wake of the allegations, the New England Patriots cut the WR after he had played only one game for the franchise.
