What did Brittany Mahomes say to Eli Apple on Twitter after Bengals loss to Chiefs
Brittany Mahomes took to social media to poke fun at Eli Apple with a sarcastic message after the Chiefs’ victory over the Bengals in the NFL playoffs.
Last Sunday, the Chiefs ended the Cincinnati Bengals’ bid for back-to-back Super Bowl runs with a 23-20 at Arrowhead Stadium. With the win, Kansas City secured its date with the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl LVII on February 12th.
Most, if not all of the Chiefs success falls on the shoulders of Brittany’s husband, better known as Patrick Mahomes. The quarterback has the support of Chiefs national and especially that of his wife, who takes to Twitter every week to share her thoughts, and the conference finals game was no exception.
Brittany Mahomes mocks Eli Apple after Bengals loss
Mahomes poked fun of Eli Apple after her husband, Patrick Mahomes, and the Chiefs beat the Bengals in the AFC Championship. The KC gunslinger’s wife went to social media to drop a sarcastic message to one of Cincinnati’s star cornerbacks.
Through her Twitter account, Brittany posted: “Cancun on 3″. This tweet likely refers to Apple’s posts after after the Bengals eliminated the Buffalo Bills on January 23.
After the Bengals’ win, Apple responded to a tweet from Bills defensive end Shaq Lawson sarcastically wishing him “Safe trips to Cabo.” The first mention of “Cancun on 3″ came from Apple’s response to a Stefon Diggs tweet after that same game. The ever aware Mahomes recalled the Tweet and used Apple’s own words to go after the Cincy defender.
The reference, which is typically used in a sarcastic tone, originated in the NBA and suggests that a team’s season has ended. This is because many athletes have chosen to spend their vacations in places in Mexico such as Cancun and Cabo.
Brittany Mahomes, the person in charge of assembling Patrick Mahomes' outfits
On Sunday, Brittany also grabbed headlines after revealing that she’s the one who chooses Patrick Mahomes’ outfits before every game. “If you’re wondering, yes I dress him every game day, and he is always icey.” Brittany posted along with a photo of Mahomes, plus emojis of smileys and drooling faces.
Mahomes’ post, which was originally shared on the Chiefs’ Instagram account, showed the quarterback wearing a light-colored jacket over a Dior T-shirt, along with ripped jeans, white sneakers and sunglasses. The quarterback accessorized his look with rings, chains and a watch.
