Tom Brady and Gisele Bündchen have officially filed for divorce, as of Friday 28 October 2022. The pair filed similar messages on Instagram saying that “co-parenting” would be their priority. In total the couple were married for 13 years; they have two children together, Benjamin (12) and Vivian (9). They also parent Brady’s first child Jack (15), who he had with former girlfriend Bridget Moynahan.

In breaking the news to his followers, Brady said that the couple “arrived at this decision [to divorce] amicably and with gratitude for the time we spent together.” Brady said the priority for the couple is their children and that they plan to “work together as parents” to “ensure they receive the love and attention they deserve.”

Tom Brady explains his absence

On Saturday night, Tampa Buccaneers QB Tom Brady brought an 11-day absence to an end. In what was his preseason debut, Brady played in the Bucs’ exhibition game finale where he posted 6 of 8 passes for a gain of 44 yards across just 11 plays. Interestingly, the GOAT elect didn’t look out of sorts even though his cameo was brief. The news will of course be more than encouraging for both the franchise and the player who at 45-years-old, needs to pay greater attention to his health and conditioning.

Addressing his absence, the seven-time Super Bowl winner alluded to the notion of greater demands on his time as he gets older. “Everyone has different situations they’re dealing with and we all have unique challenges to our lives,” Brady said following Saturday’s preseason finale against the Indianapolis Colts. “I’m 45-years old, man. There’s a lot of shit going on, so you just have to try and figure out life the best you can. You know, it’s a continuous process.”

Where exactly was Tom Brady?

With reports suggesting, that the reason for his absence during the Bucs’ first two preseason games was because he was on vacation in the Bahamas with his wife Gisele, it’s interesting to note that the man himself has neither confirmed or denied. With that said, the legendary QB looked every bit as sharp as he normally does on Saturday. Indeed, his 20-yard pass to Julio Jones which subsequently led to a field goal was clear evidence of that.

The question that still remains, is whether or not Brady - at his age and stage - can endure the rigors of this coming season and moreover, can he actually lead the Bucs to a better finish than last year? If you ask him, he’s not worried in the least. “I feel good. I’ve played football for a long time. I’m pretty good at it,” Brady said. “Doesn’t take me long for me to remember how to play it.” Assuming that’s the case, TB12 will have just over two weeks to smooth over any bumps, with the Bucs’ blockbuster opener coming on September 25th against Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers.
