COWBOYS
What is the Dallas Cowboys’ best record in the history of the franchise?
In 1966, the Dallas Cowboys began an NFL-record of 20 consecutive winning seasons, as fans still look back at the glory days.
Despite the Dallas Cowboys’ lack of success in the last almost three decades, they are still considered “America’s Team”, and one of the most historic franchises in the NFL. Throughout the 1970s and 1990s, the Cowboys brought most prominence to their franchise, with some notable successes and quite a few Super Bowl wins. Specifically in 1968 and 1977, the Dallas Cowboys had their best result in a season, with a record of 12-2.
Dallas Cowboys hit winning streak
The 90s were dominated by the Cowboys, although it was back in 1966 when they began a then NFL-record of 20 consecutive winning seasons. That streak included five Super Bowl appearances -- two wins in Super Bowls VI and XII -- 13 divisional championships and 18 years in the playoffs.
Overall, the Cowboys are tied with the Pittsburgh Steelers and Denver Broncos for the second-most Super Bowl appearances, only behind the New England Patriots who have a record of eleven Super Bowl appearances. Out of the eight appearances, Dallas has won five titles.
Let’s take a look at the scores and Super Bowls the Cowboys have won:
Dallas Cowboys’ best ever Super Bowl: 1993 vs Buffalo Bills
This was when the Cowboys made the 90s their time. The huge 1993 Dallas win over the Buffalo Bills, 52-17 in Super Bowl XXVII, was the best Super Bowl record the Cowboys have had, and the rematch with the Bills a year later kept them as consistent as could be with a 27-17 win (Super Bowl XXX).
