What NFL teams have a bye in week 10?

Nine weeks down and nine to go in the NFL season as the playoff races heat up. Four teams will have the week off before gearing up for the final stretch.

It’s all downhill from here. Not exactly, but we are at the midway point of the season and each and every game will take us closer to the playoffs as teams fight for positioning over the next couple months. After a long first half of the season, four teams will have BYEs this weekend, some needing it more than others.

  • Cleveland Browns
  • Green Bay Packers
  • Las Vegas Raiders
  • Seattle Seahawks

Cleveland Browns 2-7

After a momentary ray of light shined down on Cleveland in Week 9, the Browns are back to being the Browns. Jameis Winston came off the bench, starting his first game since 2022 and beat the Baltimore Ravens who at one point looked invincible. It gave Browns fans something to cheer about for the first time all season, but the joy was short lived. They played the Chargers over the weekend and got smoked by LA, and Winston threw three interceptions. This team heads into their BYE lost, and without much to play for heading into the final eight games of the season. Let’s see how reigning NFC Coach of the Year Kevin Stefanski uses this time to motivate his team to finish off the year strong.

Green Bay Packers 6-3

Maybe the best news to come out of the Packers loss to the Lions on Sunday is their Week 10 BYE. This team is banged up on both sides of the ball and they could use some time off for a little midseason R&R. Josh Jacobs had a ankle and Jordan Love didn’t look himself for most of the game against Detroit. On the other side of the ball, their best lockdown defender Jaire Alexander was missing against one of the top offenses in the league. The Packers may have lost ground in the race at the top of the conference, but they are still in the thick of the playoff picture despite Jordan Love suffering multiple injuries that has sidetracked him and the Packers throughout the first nine weeks of the season. Green Bay is in the best division in football and have four more games against NFC North opponents. That will likely determine where they fall or if they fall into the playoff picture.

Las Vegas Raiders 2-7

The good news for the Raiders is they don’t have a game to play this weekend. The bad news is they will have to come back and play the rest of the season once their week off is over. The Raiders are running around like a chicken with their heads cut off. There is no hope for this season. There is no direction for the organization. There is no plan for the future. So what’s the point of coming back after the BYE Week? Obviously players are going to have to earn their contracts, but it’s about to time the Raiders started to show some pride. Hopefully Antonio Pierce can rally the troops and finish off the season strong, but he hasn’t been put in a position to succeed since he was named head coach of the Raiders.

Seattle Seahawks 4-5

The Seahawks have been in a spiral since getting blown out by the Lions in Week 4. We could see this coming from a mile away despite their 3-0 start to the season. They played a Broncos team with Bo Nix making his debut, the dreadful Patriots and the Tua-less Dolphins in the first three weeks of the season. They have lost five of their last six since then, and their only win in that time was a blowout over the Falcons in Atlanta that made no sense at all. Despite the midseason spiral, they are in the thick of the division title chase in an NFC West that has been underwhelming to say the least. They come out of their BYE with a big divisional game against San Francisco which could determine how they finish off the rest of the season. Luckily for Geno Smith and the offense, they might get DK Metcalf back from a knee injury that kept him out the last two games. In those games the Seahawks put up a total of 30 points without their star receiver losing both those games, the last of which in an overtime heartbreaker.
