When the Dallas Cowboys switched to a more pass-heavy offense last season, wide receiver CeeDee Lamb’s numbers skyrocketed, in both reality and in fantasy. Lamb ended up finishing the 2023 season with 135 receptions, 1,748 receiving yards, and 14 total touchdowns, leading the league in targets, receptions, and 20-yard receptions, and second in the league in receiving yards and touchdowns. He also managed to break several records, including former Cowboys legend Michael Irvin’s 28-year long record for receptions and receiving yards. He also broke the record for most games with 11+ receptions (7) and most consecutive games with 10+ receptions and 150+ receiving yards (3).

As for fantasy, he finished the 2023 season as the WR1 in PPR, half, and standard leagues. In Weeks 8-18, when the Cowboys realized their run game just wasn’t the answer, Lamb ended up averaging over 28 points a game.

Fantasy Football 2024: CeeDee Lamb

Whatever ends up happening with his contract situation, Lamb will be the Cowboys’ No. 1 receiver again this year, and with Michael Gallup and Tony Pollard both gone, his only competition for targets are WR2 Brandin Cooks and TE Jake Ferguson. That alone sets Lamb apart from some of the other elite receivers in the league.

Lamb’s current ADP is number two overall, behind only 49ers running back Christian McCaffery, putting him as the WR1 ahead of Vikings’ Justin Jefferson, Dolphins’ Tyreek Hill, and Bengals’ Jamar Chase. Indeed, it seems Lamb should have a repeat year in 2024 with potentially even more targets than 2023.

It should also be considered that Lamb is only 25 years old, leaving room for even more potential improvement in the coming years.
