All eyes will be on Santa Clara this weekend for Super Bowl LX, the thrilling finale of a fascinating NFL season. The game will pit the Seattle Seahawks against the New England Patriots in a highly anticipated rematch of the 2015 Super Bowl, which the Patriots won 28-24.

This edition of the Super Bowl promises to be one of the most-watched in years, not only because of the sporting spectacle. The 2026 Super Bowl Halftime Show will be headlined by Puerto Rican artist Bad Bunny. There will also be a performance by band Green Day and a rendition of the national anthem by singer Charlie Puth.

Who is Super Bowl singer Charlie Puth?

Charles Otto Puth, 35, is a singer, songwriter and record producer from Rumson, New Jersey. Puth found fame by sharing his music on his own YouTube channel, Charlie Vlogs. In 2010, he released his first original song, “These Are My Sexy Shades,” and its music video. Later that year the track “The Otto Tunes” went viral online.

In 2011 Ellen DeGeneres enlisted Puth to perform on her show and in 2013 he released his second single, “Ego,” on streaming platforms. Two years later he signed with Atlantic Records and released the single “Marvin Gaye” which reached number 21 on the Billboard Hot 100.

Puth co-produced, wrote and performed on “See You Again” with Wiz Khalifa. The tribute song to Paul Walker topped the Billboard charts and was nominated for three Grammys: Song of the Year, Best Pop Duo/Group Performance and Best Song Written for Visual Media. It was also nominated for a Golden Globe Award for Best Original Song.

In 2015, Puth released the EP “Some Type of Love”. In June 2015, he created “Nothing but Trouble” with Lil Wayne for the soundtrack of 808: The Movie. The second single, “One Call Away”, is part of the album Nine Track Mind (2016). A third studio album “Charlie” followed in October 2022, released again on Atlantic Records.

Ahead of this weekend’s Super Bowl performance, Puth revealed that he does find it a daunting task: “I definitely feel nervous, obviously. This is a very difficult song musically to sing… It might be the most difficult song to sing, to perform, in terms of range, what’s required, and the power needed at the maximum range. I want them to feel inspired. I want everyone to know that music is such an amazing thing and can change so many people’s lives.”
