Why is Seahawks DK Metcalf reportedly being drug tested by the NFL?

Seattle Seahawks wide receiver DK Metcalf was contacted by NFL officials for an offseason drug test, but what’s the reason behind it?

When thinking about one of the most relevant and physical players in the NFL, DK Metcalf automatically comes up to mind.

The Seattle Seahawks wide receiver set a career-high in 2022 with 90 receptions for 1,048 yards and six touchdowns, his second 1,000-yard receiving season.

Metcalf was contacted by the NFL for an off-season drug test. That isn’t a strange move by the league, as the NFL reserves the right to test players randomly once a year.

The Seahawks star shared a message on social media from someone notifying him he had been selected to take a PES test this week.

The reasons why DK Metcalf is being drug tested

Although the NFL can test a player for no reason, this doesn’t seem to be the case.

The Seahawks wide receiver was contacted by the NFL just days after a video of him leaping and catching a pass got a ton of attention on social media.

The other reason that could have led the NFL officials to contact Metcalf is that he decided to participate in the annual NBA All-Star Celebrity Game, where he ended up being the MVP.

The same abilities that he shows during the NFL season were taken into a basketball court, where his athleticism and power led to several highlight-worthy plays, especially his impressive slam dunks.
