Why isn’t Breece Hall playing for the Jets against the Dolphins in Week 14?

Hall has been the team’s leading rusher this season, but New York need to consider another offensive strategy against Miami.

The New York Jets are set to take on the Miami Dolphins today at 1:00 p.m. ET at Hard Rock Stadium, but they’ll be missing a key piece of their offense. Star running back Breece Hall is out with a knee injury.

Hall has been a force for the Jets this season, racking up 692 rushing yards and four touchdowns. After being listed as doubtful earlier this week and skipping practice, his absence was confirmed, leaving a noticeable gap in the Jets' backfield.

Who replaces Breece Hall for the Jets?

With Hall sidelined, rookies Braelon Allen and Isaiah Davis are stepping up to handle the running game. Allen made waves in training camp but hasn’t seen much action during the regular season, while Davis has started to flash some potential in recent games.

More injuries for the Jets

The Jets have other injury concerns too. Cornerback Sauce Gardner is doubtful due to a hamstring issue, and linebacker C.J. Mosley is on injured reserve with a neck injury. It’s a rough spot for the team heading into a matchup against a Dolphins defense that’s been locking down the run, holding five of their last six opponents to under 100 rushing yards. That’s not exactly comforting news for the Jets' rookie backs.

For fans and fantasy football managers, Hall’s injury is a tough blow. All Jets eyes are now on Allen and Davis.
