Why isn’t Bucky Irving playing for the Buccaneers against the Lions on MNF in Week 7? Injury update
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers head into their Week 7 game against the Detroit Lions without their starting running back Bucky Irving.
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers will face the Detroit Lions on Monday Night, but will have to do so without their starting running back Bucky Irving, who’s dealing with multiple injuries.
What injury does Bucky Irving have and when will he be back for the Bucs?
Buccaneers head coach Todd Bowles officially ruled out Irving after he missed practice all week. He showed up on Tampa Bay’s Week 5 injury report with foot and shoulder issues. The team didn’t place him on Injured Reserve, suggesting the injuries are nagging/wear-and-tear.
Since he wasn’t placed on IR, whiich would’ve sidelined him for at least four weeks, Irving could return within the next one or two weeks, but it will probably be in Week 10.
Irving, who broke out as a rookie last year with over 1,100 rushing yards, had posted 237 rushing yards and 193 receiving yards with two touchdowns through four games this season. While he’s out, the Bucs (3-1) will lean on Rachaad White as the lead back, with Sean Tucker and rookie Josh Williams expected to see expanded roles.
Tampa Bay, already dealing with injuries to star receiver Mike Evans, faces a major test against the Lions in MNF in Week 7.
