Why isn’t Jaxson Dart playing for the Giants against the Packers in Week 11? New York QB’s injury report
Rookie QB Dart will play no part in the New York Giants’ NFL clash with the Green Bay Packers this weekend.

Jameis Winston is to start at quarterback for the New York Giants today, stepping into the shoes of the unavailable Jaxson Dart.
What injury does Dart have?
Dart, a first-round pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, has caught the eye in a struggling Giants team since he replaced Russell Wilson at QB in Week 4. However, the rookie is currently in the concussion protocol, after suffering a head injury in New York’s Week 10 defeat to the Chicago Bears last Sunday.
Wilson replaced Dart against the Bears, but his entrance coincided with the Giants surrendering a 10-point lead. The 36-year-old was sacked late in the game at Soldier Field, setting up Chicago’s winning touchdown drive.
“A lot of confidence in Jameis”
Speaking on Wednesday, New York interim head coach Mike Kafka confirmed that Winston will be under center against the Green Bay Packers this weekend.
“I have a lot of confidence in Jameis, have a lot of confidence in Russ, and he [Wilson] will be the backup [to Winston] as Jaxson works through the concussion protocol,” Kafka told reporters.
Winston, who signed for the Giants on a two-year deal in March, will be making his first appearance of the season. The 31-year-old last featured in the NFL in Week 15 of 2024, starting for the Cleveland Browns in a 21-7 defeat to the Kansas City Chiefs.
Belichick says no as Daboll dismissed
Kafka, 38, has taken interim charge of the Giants following the franchise’s decision to fire Brian Daboll in the wake of the Bears loss. The 34-24 defeat left New York with a 2-8 record in 2025 - the joint-worst in the NFC.
Bill Belichick, a six-time Super Bowl winner with the New England Patriots, is among the coaches who have been tipped as Daboll’s full-time replacement. However, the veteran has insisted he has no plans to leave his current role in college football, where he is the head coach of the North Carolina Tar Heels.
